Interior Design

Made in Berlin in 2007
By Nicole Albrecht + Florian Jünger

We create spaces, within the existing or from emptiness.
Sometimes too small to see any potential, and now and then so large as to feel lost.
We love straight lines, but the oblique and surprise-laden even more so.

Through both residential and commercial projects we explore the (im)possible with inspiring individuals.
Nicole, born & raised in Berlin, studied Interior & Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Arts & Design in London and completed her Master of Design at the University of Sydney.
Berlin and Sydney, combined, with the best of both cities would be the ultimate place for her.

Florian prefers another part of the world. He finds his inspiration by visiting NYC as often as possible.
Born in Gifhorn, he moved to Berlin in 1999 where he studied Architecture at the Technische Universität Berlin.

Curiosity, friendship and our strong thirst for new challenges are the foundations for our creative work.

The new office for this transport business is located in a row of several old workshops that have been transformed into commercial units.  Tucked within an elongated low rise building, solely original brick walls remind of the existing structure, while newly built in skylights and a floor to ceiling glas facade allow for plenty of daylight to enter the space.  The aim was to create an open plan office for 2-3 people, offering room to communicate but also quietly withdraw to at the same time.  The solution is a 3m high utility wall cutting through the space.  It consists of storage units accessible from both sides and acoustic sliding doors. Integrated lighting serves as an uplight to illuminate the ceiling.  The reception counter, a small kitchen and a built in bench follow the same design language in white with edging made of oak veneering.  The red felt sliding doors represent the company’s corporate color, in contrast to the otherwise clean use of black and white for loose furniture and natural oak flooring.
